'Person of Interest' Season 5 Premiere, Trailer: The Show To Say Goodbye After Fifth Season?
It was recently reported that J.J. Abrams, the executive producer of "Person of Interest" stated that there is a huge chance that the show will be cancelled after its season 5.
The network, CBS, has now stated that there won't be any official announcement regarding the show's fate until after the fifth season premieres, which will be in spring.
According to TV Series Finale, the creators of "Person of Interest" have done a great job in the fifth season. Abrams said that the show's creative team wrote a great season from the first episode up until the finale regardless if it would turn out to be the series finale or not.
"My guess is [Season 5] is the final season. The only heartbreak there is how much good story there was to come if it were to have continued... But, obviously, things can be adjusted if [there's] a miraculous [ratings] performance. But I think the idea is that this would be the finale," Abrams said.
"Person of Interest" was just recently signed to a 13-episode season. "We hope to get it on this spring," CBS Entertainment president Glenn Geller said according to Deadline. "Greg (Plageman) and Jonah have planned a terrific season," he added.
It really looks like this may be it for the series. It was first released on September of 2011 and since then had four successful seasons, and counting.
The show is created by Jonathan Nolan. It is rated 87 percent in Rotten Tomatoes while having an 8.5/10 score at the Internation Movie Database.
