As fans of Showtime's hit gothic series, 'Penny Dreadful' await the premiere of the show's second season, the showrunners have released a new teaser video to satiate the eager fanbase.

Viewers of the show can expect Season 2 to debut with its first episode, entitled "Fresh Hell," sometime in 2015.

On a side note, 'Penny Dreadful' Season 1 was launched on Blu-Ray this October 14.

Stepping back into the upcoming installment, the horrifying TV series is ready to satisfy the fans' appetites as the new trailer for the second season released October 5. The teaser is narrated by the series lead Eva Green who plays Vanessa Ives in the story.

In the teaser video, blood is evidently visible in a scene where Vanessa is heard asking, "Do you believe the past can return?"

"More than that. It never leaves us, it is who we are," the poised and mysterious medium revealed.

"God help us then," the heroine replied.

Meanwhile, Season 2 will return showcasing 10 episodes that will show gore and more chaos as well as reveal a demon from Vanessa's past that will return to haunt her.

Furthermore, Cinema Blend reports that the new season will show "mythological element" based on the scorpions that appeared in the trailer as well as on the promo poster. Apparently, Goddess Gaia sent out scorpions to kill Orion who plans to kill everyone.

For those who may not know, 'Penny Dreadful' is the brainchild of playwright and screenwriter John Logan who also wrote other films like 'Hugo', 'Skyfall', and 'Gladiator'. The series is set in a rather dark and mystified London during the Victorian era.

On that note, Logan has admitted that he enjoys writing stories that traverse the timeline.

"My keyboard is a time machine and a portal into somewhere fantastical. I'm not so interested in going to the CVS and finding thrilling stories there. I'm in awe of writers who can do that, but that's not my metier. From my first plays all the way until now, I've always been drawn to different worlds, whether it's future worlds, past worlds, or alternate worlds, partly because there's such a joy in exploring them," Logan explained.

'Penny Dreadful' is a British-American Horror TV series based on several 19th century monsters and fictional characters, wrapping up in the Victorian era.

The show features different characters like Vanessa Ives (Eva Green), Sir Malcolm Murray (Timothy Dalton), Ethan Chandler (Josh Hartnett) and Dr. Victor Frankenstein (Harry Treadaway).

'Penny Dreadful' Season 2 is expected to air sometime in 2015.
