‘Penny Dreadful’ Renewed: Season 2 Release Date, Spoilers: Dorian's Carney Speaks Up

Showtime has given an expanded order of 10 episodes to the series "Penny Dreadful', which was created, written, and executively produced by three-time Oscar nominee John Logan.

Starring Josh Hartnett, Timothy Dalton, and Eva Green, "Penny Dreadful' will once again shoot on location in Dublin, Ireland for its second season.

For those who are unfamiliar, the show's title is the term that was used for vivid and sensational British fiction that was published in the 19th century. At the time, each installment cost a single penny.

According to the official Showtime press release, "Penny Dreadful' has been drawing 4.8 million weekly viewers across multiple platforms, and it is currently the network's most-watched new show through its Showtime on Demand and Showtime Anytime avenues.

In the first season, certain famous literary characters like Dr. Frankenstein and Dorian Gray are seen in the supernatural series set in the Victorian era. So what's in store for Season 2?

TVLine caught up with Reeve Carney, who plays Dorian Grey. When asked what his character will be up to in the new season, Carney said that Eva Green's character, Vanessa Ives, and Dorian might continue their rare connection.

"I think that he's drawn to her in a way that he's not drawn to anyone else. Even from the first meeting, there was something there, something unique," said Carney.

It could be seen on the Season 1 finale that Vanessa decided to end her connection with Dorian. Fans of the show are now speculating whether this unique pairing has any chance at romance on the next season, or if there will be a new love interest for Dorian.

"Penny Dreadful' Season 2 returns to Showtime on 2015.
