Peaches Geldof Cause of Death Drugs: Heroin Overdose to Blame for Sudden Death
The cause of Peaches Geldof has now been discovered to be a result of a heroin overdose. The 25-year-old daughter of British musician Bob Geldof was discovered dead next to her 11-month-old boy Phaedra Bloom Forever in her house on April 7.
"The hope is that Phaedra was so young he wasn't aware of what was going on," said an unidentified friend of Peaches' to The Sun. "The most important thing is that he's OK. It is devastating for [her husband] Tom that he wasn't there but it couldn't have been avoided."
Tragically, Peaches shared the same fate as her late mother Paula Yates, who also died as a result of a drug overdose by heroin. In another strange twist, Geldof posted a photo of her as a little girl alongside her mother just hours prior to her being discovered dead in her home by her father.
In addition, she also lost a friend as result of a drug overdose back in 2011. Her then 18-year-old friend Freddy McConnel reportedly wrote in his diary about taking drugs for the first time just months before he died as a result of narcotics.
"Peaches is coming over later and I am going to inject for the first time. Perhaps I will die. I hope I don't," wrote McConnel in his journal, according to the Daily Mail.
Gelfof is survived by her dad Bob, her husband Thomas Cohen and their two children Phaedra and their nearly two-year-old son Astala Dylan Willow.
"My beloved wife Peaches was adored by myself and her two sons," said Cohen in a statement released shortly following his wife's death. "I shall bring them up with their mother in their hearts everyday. We shall love her forever."
