Paul Walker Brother Cody Walker Rumors: Cast to Appear in 'Fast 8' after 'Fast and Furious 7' Gets New Release Date

In latest Fast and Furious 7 news, Paul Walker's brother Cody is rumored to appear in the eighth film as a new character after the upcoming movie appears in the box office with an earlier release date.

Previously, the late actor's brothers Cody and Caleb were body doubles in some of the scenes of the Fast and Furious 7 movie, after their sibling was killed in a car accident on November 30, 2013.

"I can now officially confirm what so many have already assumed. FF7-let's make it great and make my bro proud," wrote Cody in a post on his Facebook page a few months ago.

Previously, Universal Pictures issued the following statement regarding the Walker brothers involvement in the film:

"Paul had already shot his dramatic scenes and most of his action for Fast & Furious 7, and it's among the strongest work of his career," wrote the film company via Facebook. "We have resumed shooting and now welcome Paul's brothers, Caleb and Cody, into our Fast family. Caleb and Cody are helping us complete some remaining action for their brother and fill in small gaps left in production. Having them on set has made us all feel that Paul is with us too."

Now it appears Cody will get the opportunity (as a new character) to continue the great legacy that his brother started in the popular franchise 13 years ago.

"If Walker's brother does a great job and is well received by audiences in this newly conceived role, then who better to carry on the Walker tradition than his brother? ...when its a family member who fills in, it seems to soften any criticism that could develop. Look at Jason Bonham (son of the late Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham), when he has filled in for his respected and beloved father, everyone was cool with it because they kept it in the family. Universal is keeping it in the family and its tough to argue with the strategy...I think that it's a meritocracy and that's appropriate," said media and film expert Paul Dergarabedian, according to a Movie Pilot report.

The Fast and Furious 7 film which has an all-star cast including the late Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Jordana Brewster, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Michelle Rodriguez, Kurt Russell and Romeo Santos will appear in movie theaters on April 3, 2015 (instead of its original release date of April 10).
