“Pastor Milton R. Hawkins Presents: In The Sanctuary” CD to Honor the Late Bishop G.E. Patterson
The current pastor of the Temple of Deliverance Church of God in Christ, Superintendent Milton R. Hawkins is honoring the late church founder, Bishop G.E. Patterson, by partnering with Habakkuk Music to release a new CD called, Pastor Milton R. Hawkins Presents, In The Sanctuary." The record features twelve songs performed by the Temple of Deliverance COGIC Women's Choir, which boasts more than 200 voices.
In The Sanctuary was produced by musician/composer Derrick Starks. The choir was also joined by Grammy Award winning solo vocalists like Karen Clark Sheard, Tamela Mann (now #1 on Billboard's Hot Gospel Songs chart with, "Take Me To The King") and veteran vocalist Lisa Page Brooks who made waves two years ago for her #1 hit "I Want To Say Thank You."
The first radio single off the album Everybody Praise has reached #36 on this week's Nielsen BDS gospel radio chart. Carla Tolbert leads the vocals. Ever since her singer-father went deaf, Tolbert has personally committed to carrying out his singing dreams vicariously through her career.
The album was recorded last July at the Temple of Deliverance and is slated for a July 2013 release. The late founding pastor, Bishop G.E. Patterson was known not only for his preaching prowess, but also as a soul-stirring singer of traditional gospel standards such as "My Record Will Be There" and "Inside the Gate."
To keep his musical legacy alive, Pastor Hawkins brought the Temple of Deliverance COGIC Women's Choir together for the hand-clapping, power-packed live CD.
