‘Parks and Recreation' Series Finale Spoilers, News: Filming Finished, Stars and Crew Shares Photos From Set
After airing for seven seasons, NBC comedy 'Parks and Recreation' has wrapped the filming of its series finale on Friday and its cast and crew have taken to Twitter to share heartwarming pictures from the set.
Some pictures were funny, with Aubrey Plaza and Nick Offerman flipping the bird, while others were sweet with a snapshot from Leslie and Ben's wedding.
The series of tweets of pictures from the set even inspired fans to start a trending topic, #ThankYouParksCrew, where they reminisced about the good times they've had watching the show and reasons why they're sad to say goodbye.
TV Over Mind also reported that 'Mad Men' star Jon Hamm will be returning for the final season of 'Parks and Recreation'.
"If I have my way, every episode where you see events that take place before that moment will include a shot of him doing something insanely incompetent," executive producer Mike Schur said when asked if Hamm will make a comeback in the final season of the show.
Besides Hamm, guest stars Ben Schwartz, Natalie Morales, and Megan Mullally will also be making an appearance in Pawnee before the 13-episode season finale ends.
The last and final season of the show will begin airing on Tuesday, January 13 at 8 pm. After its premiere, the small-town government comedy will be airing its back-to-back episodes until it reaches its hour-long finale six weeks later on Tuesday, February 24, leading out of 'The Voice'.
"In an effort to give it the send-off it deserves, we wanted to 'eventize' the final season to maximize the impact of these episodes, which really do take the show to a new level. The highly-anticipated one-hour finale will air behind 'The Voice' in order to lead the largest audience possible into what promises to be a very special hour of television," NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt said in a statement, according to E! News.
