'Parkland' Extended Movie Trailer Release Date Sept 2013 JFK Assassination Starring Zac Efron, Marcia Gay Harden & Billy Bob Thorton, Plus Behind the Scenes Footage (VIDEO)

Parkland premiered at the Venice Film Festival and Xan Brooks discusses different aspects of the movie (watch above). 

Parkland, the up-coming drama movie starring Zac Efton, Billy Bob Thorton and Marcia Gay Harden hits theaters in the U.S. today (Sept 20th). 

The movie covers the JFK assassination in Dallas, TX from 1963. Zac Efron plays an E.R. doctor at Parkland Hospital where John F. Kennedy is taken after he is shot in the convertible that he was riding in. Efron's character is a new, young doctor who struggles with the panic of being in such a high profile situation. 

This year marks the 50th anniversary of President JFK's assassination which could give this movie some extra publicity which could bode well in the box office. The American public always has a fascination with these type of stories, so if the movie is put together well, it should have a good chance to strong success at the box office. JFK was one of the most popular presidents in the last half century. 

The upcoming film is based off of the book Four Days in November by author Vincent Bugliosi and is being directed by Peter Landesman. Tom Hanks is also serving as a producer. 

Parkland also stars James Badge Dale, Jacki Weaver, Ron LIvingston, David Harbour and Paul Giamatti. 

Parkland is set to release to theaters in the U.S. on Sept. 20th. Will you head to the movies to see it?
