Papa San's 'One Blood' Features Lecrae, Israel Houghton, Fred Hammond and More, Available for Pre-Order on iTunes
A variety of Christian artists are releasing music this month, from contemporary Christian band Casting Crowns, to Reach Records emcee Andy Mineo, as well as popular Jamaican Gospel reggae phenom Papa San; One Blood is available for preorder now on iTunes .
San's One Blood will be in stores Jan. 21 on Beloved Records. The album will feature a cluster of major talent such as Gospel singer Fred Hammond, Hip-hop artist Lecrae, renown worship leader Israel Houghton, rapper DA T.R.U.T.H, fellow reggae artists Stitchie, Sherwin Gardner, and more.
This will be the artist's 16th studio album for the fast rapping reggae stlye artist. One Blood is now available for pre-order on iTunes.
San was raised in a Rastafarian home and went on to become one of the major successful mainstream dancehall artists of the late 1980s and 1990s. After a few family tragedies with the deaths of two of his siblings and many family members in addition to a slew of legal problem he faced, the dance hall "Capitan" turned to Jesus in 1997.
Since becoming a Christian he has continued to create his original reggae sound, but with the message of Christ instead of his former popular music. He became the first gospel artist in the Caribbean to land on Reggae Billboard charts. Papa San sponsors a concert known as Papa San and Friends. The concerts purpose is raise funds for orphanages in rural Jamaica. Since becoming a Christian he has continued to produce his roots reggae sound, but with the message of Christ to the beat instead of his previously popular secular music.
In an interview with Gospelreggae.com the Stellar Award Winner San said his heart is to be on the road with his music ministry.
"My greatest desire is for souls to be saved and lives to be changed so I'd rather be on the road," he said.
After years of living in the world like the world but professing Jesus, San now said his life in Christ has never been better.
He goes on to tell his fans on the site, "To my fans this the best life I have ever lived since I have accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I am happy to know I am in His perfect will and nothing can change that."
