Pacquiao vs Mayweather Latest Fight Rumors: No Official Word Yet on Next Fight, Dream Bout Still Up In the Air

Thrill continues to build for boxing fans this year as the two undefeated World Boxing Champions Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. negotiate a brawl for the ages. From talks of money, to how the fighters match up, the most anticipated boxing match rests on the fence, and no one knows for sure whether it will ever take place.

Currently, the five-division world champion with eight world titles, Mayweather Jr. is in the process of carefully selecting his next three opponents, and fans are hoping that the third choice will be WBO Welterweight champion Pacquiao, who is also currently holding the fourth place on The Ring's pound-for-pound list.

Boxing fans are not the only ones looking for a fight between the two, Mayweather Sr. also hopes for it, "I think he (Floyd) has to be 50-0 to surpass Marciano. They got three more fights. I'm more than sure that if Floyd gets to the 49, I'm pretty sure they'll come up with that [Pacquiao] fight. If we fight Pacquiao, that would be last anyways. That would be the fight that's going away, and that fight would probably be the biggest fight in the world. If Floyd fights Pacquiao, believe me, it's gonna be the best for last," Mayweather Sr. explains on Jenny Jay's radio program recently.

According to Mayweather Jr.'s father, Pacquiao is a much better fighter than his son's most recent opponent, Marcos Maidana, whom according to some fans, has a dirty way of fighting.

On the other side of the boat, Pacquiao's team seems to have already lost an appetite for fighting Mayweather Jr, Pacquaio's adviser Michael Koncz recently told Manila Standard that although Filipino's Pride Pacquiao is happy to fight the Grand Rapid native Mayweather, Koncz doesn't believe that anybody can influence Mayweather to make the fight happen, especially since the champion had a hard time against Maidana, "Pacquiao is faster than Maidana, hits harder and in addition is a southpaw, who throws lots of combinations." Koncz said.

No official response has emerged from the either side of the ring, which leaves fans still hoping for the good news.
