‘Orphan Black’ Season 3 Release Date, Spoilers: Project Castor Breeds All Male Clones; Rachel Return?
Orphan Black Season 2 concluded the installment on both positive and negative notes. Besides another clone project revealed to be in the works, the season finale offered viewers Rachel's perpective when she witnessed her father's suicide, prior to her stabbing. Stepping away from the negative, fans got to see Sarah Manning escape from Dyad Institute and reunite with her daughter, Kira.
Executive producers John Fawcett and Graeme Manson confirmed that the military has its own male cloning project called Project Castor. Fans were shocked at how the Season 2 finale focused on the fact that Mark the Prolethean was one of the male clones.
"What's interesting about this is that Ari Millen is a really talented guy and he's someone that we had brought in as this new Prolethean character, and we had planned to kill him in episode 6. After he did some significantly great work for us in the early get-going of the season we started to focus our eyes on him as very strong potential for our male clone, and that's kind of how that happened," Fawcett told Entertainment Weekly explaining where the idea of male clones originated.
In an interview with the Hollywood Online Magazine, Tatiana Maslany, revealed how she was able to pull through a dance number portraying four different clones in the last episode of BBC's top rating series.
She said, "It took us two days to shoot that, but it was so much fun and so much fun when we finally got to watch it back and see how it had all come together. It was just a total blast."
Orphan Black has yet to announce its renewal for a third season on BBC.
