'Orange is the New Black' on Netflix: Season 2 Has Begun Filming / Lorraine Toussaint Joins 'OITNB' Cast [VIDEO]
Netflix recently confirmed a second season of their new hit show [get used to saying that], Orange is the New Black. In fact filming for Season 2 has already begun.
Joining the original cast on set is new addition Lorraine Toussaint.
According to Deadline, Toussaint will play a character named Vee who is described as "a longtime street tough who ran her own drug business, recruiting children to serve as runners."
Along with Toussaint, some of the Season 1 cast have been promoted to principal characters on the show. Fan favorites Taystee [Danielle Brooks] and Pennsatucky [Taryn Manning] will have much larger roles in Orange is the New Black Season 2.
From the show's Facebook page, just a few hours ago, filming for Season 2 has been announced. MattMcGorry, who plays John Bennett also confirmed to Entertainment Weekly, filming began Monday.
Netflix has been on quite a roll with its original programming. What seemed liked ages ago, the streaming service blew the doors down on conventional TV releases by letting fans watch the entire Season 1 of House of Cards, Netflix's first original scripted TV endeavor.
Since then the flood gates have opened giving way to more Netflix success with a new season of cult-classic Arrested Development and original series' like Hemlock Grove and Lilyhammer, which are both signed on for second season.
