'Orange Is The New Black' Season 3 Release Date, Spoilers: New Series Welcomes Baby, Begins After Nine Months’ Time Jump
When 'Orange is The New Black' returns for Season 3 on Netflix in mid-2015 fans will see a new baby, as Daya gives birth to her child after a time jump in the comedic television drama.
According to Matt McGorry, who portrays the character of John Bennett, when the show opens next year, fans will find Daya cradling her baby with the corrections officer (C.O.) at Litchfield Penitentiary.
Matt McGorry further revealed that there will be a time jump of nine months between 'Orange Is The New Black' Seasons 2 and Season 3.
In fact, Daya found out about her pregnancy in Season 1 and decided to keep the baby. In Season 2, Daya, John, Aleida, and Gloria conspired and thought up a story to put the responsibility on George "Pornstache" Mendez. However, soon after that, Pornstache was arrested and sent to prison.
As there were already too many issues, most of them complicated and related to Daya and John's relationship, the writers thought it was best not to introduce the baby in the second season of the show.
In the upcoming season of 'Orange Is The New Black', the birth of their child the couple another chance at their relationship. In fact, the baby will be an important factor in their lives, through out the season.
Talking to TV Guide, McGorry said Daya and Bennet will have "different ideas about what should happen, as we've seen before, and that continues to come to a head as we get closer and closer to Month Nine."
He quickly added, "Hormones rage and... in our case, it's even more complicated."
There are speculations that Daya will now get on with portraying the situation of mothers in prison and the condition of their babies - something that will make her character all the more relevant.
According to latest reports, filming of Orange Is The New Black' Season 3 has already started, and will be released at a similar time as Seasons 1 and 2 in 2015.
On that note, Netflix has decided to renew the series, as it had very high ratings in Season 1 and Season 2, in addition to garnering 12 Emmy nominations.
