'Orange is the New Black' Season 2 on Netflix: Cast Member Taylor Schilling Talks Details About Upcoming Episodes
Though the Season 2 premiere has yet to be confirmed, buzz about Netlfix's breakout series Orange is the New Black is at an all-time high. Cast member Taylor Schilling who plays the lead role Piper Chapman opened up to Studio Q last week about some details regarding the new batch of episodes.
Schilling spoke about the commended creator and showrunner Jenji Kohan and the writers for keeping the plot fresh and character development explorative.
"The beauty of the writing is that we travel quite intimately into their [characters] lives. There are a lot of universal themes that are uncovered," she said.
Being preoccupied with filming the show's sophomore season, Schilling commented on how she hasn't had time to indulge in the show's massive appeal.
"We're so in the middle of it. We're so in the thick of making the thing, which I think is great. There hasn't been much time to sort of get into the woo woo [celebrating its success]," Schilling said.
The actress says part of the success of the show is articulating a prison-experience that viewers can relate to even if they've never been to jail.
"We're taking all of these different women, all of these different people that for a large part of the population. I think you could look at some of these women that you're seeing on the show and say 'their separate from me, I don't have anything in common with them," she added.
Orange is the New Black Season 2 is set to be back some time in 2014. Stay tuned for more details.
