‘Orange is the New Black’ Season 3 Release Date, Cast News: Natasha Lyonne Nominated for Emmy Award
Netflix's 'Orange is the New Black' has been renewed for a Season 3, and fans are already going crazy to find out what happens after Season 2's finale. For those who have not yet been able to catch up, Season 2 of Orange is the New Black is on Netflix right now in its entirety.
Meanwhile, Natasha Lyonne, who starred as inmate Nicky Nichols (Season 2), has been nominated for her first ever Emmy Award.
In her interview with People magazine, the 35-year-old actress from Manhattan talked about how she was able the relate to her heart surgery scene in the show. She is nominated for the Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series award.
"Believe me, there's no shortage of things for me to draw on when it comes to Nicky's back-story. But while I was filming a hospital scene when Nicky undergoes open heart surgery after an overdose, it was weird because I had been through something so similar, but had almost nothing to draw on," she detailed.
If she successfully bags the recognition, Lyonne will be in line with Uzo Aduba and Laverne Cox who are both recipients of the same award.
When asked about what she can reveal concerning the upcoming season, the 'American Pie' actress teased there will be "so much bloodshed," which is kind of unexpected given the turn of events in the past season.
Good news for Alex Vause fans, Laura Prepon is back as a series regular. Vause had a rocky relationship with character Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling), but she was not able to pursue the role in Season 2 due to scheduling conflicts.
'Orange is the New Black' Season 3 will be back on primetime sometime in June 2015.
