OnePlus One Release Date, Specs: High-End but Low-Cost Smartphone

The OnePlus One smartphone is being revered as a revolutionary device in the market, because of it's high-end specs and low-end cost. However, the hype for the device is so vast that the company says it cannot keep up with all the orders for the phone.

The specs and features of the OnePlus One are seriously competitive to Apple, Samsung, HTC, LG or Sony devices, but at half the cost. Originally, the phone was planned for a mid-June release, but released late and has only shipped a few units to retailers so far.

OnePlus One is a straight shooter with a 5.5 inches LTPS LCD capacitive touch screen, with 1080 x 1920 pixels. The externals have the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and CyanogenMod 11S. The phone supports multi-touch, up to 10 fingers. The device is powered by the latest and the fastest Qualcomm MSMS8974AC Snapdragon 801 with Quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU to assist it.

The rear camera is Sony Exmor IMX214 with a capacity of 13 MP, dual flash, f/2.0 aperture and 4128 X 3096 pixels. The front camera is a 5 MP 1080p@ 30fps. The device runs on CyanogenMod 11S which is a highly customizable modified version of Android KitKat. Oneplus one is also designed to get Android L on its release.

The device also has Adreno 330 graphics with a high capacity 3100 mAh battery. The device boasts around 11 hours of video playback, beaten only by the Xperia Z2 with a 3200 mAh battery. The selfie camera is a show off that the flagship phones have trouble competing with, but UK users need to be concerned because the phone does not support the 800MHz band.
