The Oklahoma Thunder is looking extend their winning streak to two games by defeat the Los Angeles Clippers in Hollywood tonight. The Thunder are currently in second behind the Spurs in the Western conference standings by 3 ½ games.
The Oklahoma City Thunder recently defeated the Sacramento Kings by the final score of 107-92 last night. Kevin Durant scored 23 points to lead the Thunder to the victory. However, Durant's streak of scoring at least 25 points in 41 consecutive games ended last night. Before Durant achieved this remarkable feat, Michael "Air" Jordan's previously held the record of scoring at least 25 points in 40 straight games back in 1986-87.
"I was getting so many texts after every game. I'm glad that's over with and we can just focus on the team," said Durant to reporters. "If we played well and I had 25 points, that took away from how well the team was playing, so I didn't like that. If we lost, it was all about me scoring 25 points and I didn't like that either. I'm glad we can just talk about the team now."
Like the Thunder, the Clippers are looking extend their winning streak to two games tonight. The Clippers recently defeated their hometown and Pacific Division rivals the Los Angeles Lakers by the final score of 120-97 on Sunday. Chris Paul totaled 23 points and 6 assists to lead the Clippers to the victory three nights ago. The Clippers are currently in third place in the Western Conference standings.
"It's just every game's important as far as I'm concerned," said Clippers head coach Doc Rivers to reporters. "You just want to keep winning and you just want to do that. It's nice to win and guys have relatively low minutes, so that was good."
