The New York Knicks (21-35) will play the Dallas Mavericks (34-23) at Madison Square Garden in New York tonight.

Carmelo Anthony's impressive offensive efforts for the time being are wasted by the slumping New York Knicks.

Nowitzki attempts to continue his strong stretch and aid the Mavericks tonight versus Anthony and the Knicks at MSG.

The Mavericks have won nine of their last 12 games while averaging at least 107.5 points per game. Dallas have an opportunity to sweep their three-game road trip after scoring 118.5 points per game on 55% shooting in double-digit victories at Philadelphia and Detroit.

Nowitzki is a major part of Dallas' current surge, assisting the franchise's ascent into eighth spot in the Western Conference.

Anthony needs some more assistance from the rest his Knick teammates. The superstar forward is averaging at least 31 points during their 2-8 record in their last 10 games. Tim Hardaway Jr. is the Knicks second premier scorer during that stretch at nearly 12 points per game.

"It's same things, different days," said Anthony to reporters adding. "It's starting to get tough to handle. It's definitely tested me. The frustration has definitely sunk in."

In all likelihood, Anthony might miss the playoffs for the first time in his 11 NBA season career.
