Nokia Lumia 925 Release Date June 2013, Price, Specs and Review [VIDEO]
The Nokia Lumia 925 is finally official! Nokia's latest installment in their growing smartphone arsenal, is also the first in the series to have a metal casing. Though the Lumia 925 has a different design, it still runs on the Windows operating system.
Nokia has also confirmed the phone will be available worldwide in June 2013.
The latest Lumia phone is also thinner and lighter, weighing in around 139 grams and 8.5mm thick. The aluminum frame actually helps keep the phone lighter. In other categories the Lumia 925 is pretty similar to the 920, and inferior to other competing smartphones. The 1.5GHz processor and 1GB of RAM might feel a little sluggish compared to the new Galaxy S4, which runs on a smooth 1.9GHz processor and twice the RAM. Most carries will only offer the 16GB version of the Lumia 925. However some will have the 32GB option.
At least the screen was upgraded to a 4.5-inch OLED display at 1280 x 768. The Lumia 925's screen may be a little smaller than the S4, but the resolution is on par, even marginally beating out the popular Samsung phone.
Still living in 2012, Nokia only felt the need to equip the Lumia 925 with an 8.7-megapixel camera. The Galaxy S4 will have a 13MP rear-facing camera, and the iPhone 5S or 6 is expected to offer the same. Nokia's Smart Camera app is a nice feature though.
The Nokia Lumia has a release date of June 2013 with a retail price close to $600.
