Lumia 730 Release Date Rumors: Microsoft Releases Teasers About ‘Selfie Phone’ Prior to Berlin IFA Event
Microsoft is organizing a press conference at the Berlin IFA this week and it is expected that the Redmond-headquartered tech firm will unveil new Windows phones, including the Lumia 730, at this event.
It is rumored that the upcoming device, nicknamed the "selfie phone," will be in the mid-range section and will be affordable. It will certainly be a delight for selfie enthusiasts, as it has a 5MP front camera, perfect for taking selfies.
In fact, Microsoft has been teasing about the Nokia Lumia 730 since last month, when it sent out press invitations for the Berlin event. It is reported that the invitation had a tagline that read, "join us for more face time," and displayed a Lumia camera on the invitation.
Microsoft claims that all of this was just done to remind everyone about the company's press conference in Berlin, but many techies feel they cannot be duped so easily. All these selfie based teasers lead many to believe that the Lumia 730 is set to be revealed at the event.
Of late, pictures of the supposed Nokia Lumia 730 and Nokia Lumia 735 are being displayed on the Tieba Baidu website. These images offer a fair idea regarding the features and specs of the purported devices.
From the photographs, it can be assumed that the Lumia 730 will come with a dual sim support, while the Lumia 735 will support a 4G connection. The Lumia 730 is reported to have a 5MP front camera and a 4.7-inch HD display. The device is expected to come with a 6.7MP rear camera. It will run on Windows Phone 8.1 Debian Red update and is rumored to be powered by a quad-one Snapdragon processor.
In addition, the Lumia 730 is expected to feature 1GB of RAM, 8GB internal storage together with microSD card slot. It is rumored that the power and the volume buttons of the handset will be placed on the same side.
Additionally, a report by The Verge also speculated that the Lumia 730 will be launched at the IFA 2014 in Berlin along with the Lumia 830.
