'Noah' Movie Controversy: Ray Comfort Addresses Darren Aronofsky's Inaccuracies In 'Noah And the Last Days' Film (TRAILER)
World famous televangelist Ray Comfort recently released a movie that shows the inaccuracies of filmmaker Darren Aronofsky's film version of the Biblical person. Comfort's "Noah and the Last Days" movie debuted on March 28, the very day Aronofsky's interpretation of the story found in the Book of Genesis was released in movie theaters.
"Theirs is rightly billed as 'fiction' -- with Noah being painted as an evil character," said Comfort in a press release. "Ours is based on the truth of Holy Scripture."
Ray Comfort hosts the Christian TV program "Way of The Master" alongside "Growing Pains" star Kirk Cameron. Both men are known for their brutally honest yet loving style of sharing the gospel, which has made them some of the most admired evangelists globally. His thought-stimulating pro-life film, "180: Changing the Heart of a Nation," was watched by more than 4.3 million YouTube viewers. The 64-year-old New Zealand Christian minister further described the differences between both "Noah" films.
"Hollywood's [version] is listed as 'fantasy, while ours is based on the truth," said Comfort according to a recent report by the Christian Post. "Theirs is entertainment that will cost you. Ours is life-changing and will be freely available on YouTube."
Comfort explained his reasons for creating a "Noah" movie based on the actual events that were revealed in the Bible.
"We hope people will watch 'Noah - And the Last Days' to learn the biblical reason God sent a worldwide Flood and be able to share these truths with those who see the Hollywood version," said Comfort. "Rather than providing mere entertainment, we want viewers to consider whether the biblical warning of Noah applies to them today."
Film actor Russell Crowe defended his director's film version of the Biblical protagonist. Crowe also revealed that the people who made the film knew some people would be opinionated regarding their movie's version.
"A lot of people think they know the story but what they recall is children's stories from Sunday school and not what the Bible said," said Crowe in a recent interview. "This story is contained in every religious text. Noah is in the Qu'ran. People from all over the world outside of religion have flood mythology. In my eyes, Noah is just a normal man and, as he begins to realize the full weight of the task he's been given, it weighs down on him."
Comfort explained his motives for making a film based on Noah and how his true story relates to people living in modern times.
"We didn't produce NOAH to entertain you," said Comfort at the end of the "Noah and the Last Days" movie. "We produced it in the sincere hope that you'll obey the Gospel, that you'll repent of your sins, and trust alone in Jesus Christ-so that we'll see you in Heaven."
