Nintendo 'Pikmin 4' Release Date News: Director Miyamoto Confirms Franchise Addition & New Spin-Off Collaborations
During Nintendo's recent Q&A session with analysts, the company's game designer and senior managing director Shigeru Miyamoto hinted that they might be making another 'Pikmin game' in the future.
While discussing how the iconic gaming company has released a 'Pikmin' playable demo and was using the recently launched 'Pikmin 3' game's animated shorts, Miyamoto indicated that it will not be the last time that Nintendo will release a 'Pikmin' title.
In a statement released to analysts by Nintendo's senior managing director, he said that their continuous launch of Pikmin related products after releasing the game is not only a way of promoting it, but will also serve as the foundation for "the next Pikmin game that might be released in the future."
Additionally, Miyamoto said that Nintendo is hoping that because of the company's continuous campaign launches, consumers will be motivated to buy the Wii U.
"We are making a variety of different efforts," he said.
Meanwhile, during the Q&A, Miyamoto also tackled the issue of "spinoff software," saying that Nintendo is working on developing new games that are smaller-scale, while the company gears for other major releases, which takes a much longer time to develop.
Miyamoto also said that Nintendo will continue its partnership with other game developers to create more games that will feature some of the company's most-loved characters, similar to the company's collaboration with developer Koei Tecmo on 'Hyrule Warriors'.
He added that since the beginning of 2014, Nintendo has worked with second and third party developers that the company has never worked with before. And because of the company's collaboration with a variety of developers, Miyamoto said that Nintendo is now in the process of creating numerous games, which will be "key software"
Lastly, he noted that Nintendo will do its best to make sure that Wii U will have a rich lineup of games for 2015.
