Nintendo NX Release Date, Rumors Update: Flagship Console To Come With Powerful Specs, Features?

The rumors and news reports surrounding the Nintendo NX have been reaching near mythical proportions, although it's not clear which of these reported features are mere hype or not.

Already, there are rumors filtering in that the Nintendo NX could even surpass the capabilities of both the Xbox One and Playstation 4. If true, this could be the game changer for the Japanese company, whose consoles have been saddled by the lack of third-party game titles.

According to the news updates, remote play is very much possible for the Nintendo NX, which is alleged to be miles better than Sony's PS4 remote play (through the PS Vita), although gamers have been complaining of a lag. The same goes for Windows 10 and Xbox One, but players need to be on the same network.

"The game streaming idea has gathered traction in 2016, with reports claiming that the Nintendo NX system will allegedly work with smartphones, PCs and possibly even the PlayStation 4," PC Advisor reported.

But some pundits are not really impressed by all the rumors and news updates surrounding the Nintendo NX.

Michael Pachter, Wedbush Securities analyst, said that historically, Nintendo has never been very good with its consoles.

"I'm not really sure. I would say based on Nintendo's recent history, it is not going to be very good," he told Gaming Bolt. "I know they are pretty excited about it, but I would say it's a backward looking technology, that is just not an improvement over everything else that we've got an option to do, and it will completely miss the point of games getting away from consoles."

Based on the initial rumors and news updates, the release date for the Nintendo NX won't be announced at the E3 2016 in June. By all indications, the Japanese firm is taking its sweet time to make sure it gets it right the first time.
