Nexus 6 Release Date, Specs News: Phablet Surpasses Nexus 5 With New and Big Features

Manufactured under Motorola's production line, Google's Nexus 6 has been revealed in October with a completely different look from LG-Nexus 5. The upcoming Nexus 6 will also cost more than the previous Nexus line models at the time of their release.

Nexus 6 belongs to a different device category, the phablet. It has 5.96-inch display, looks like an oversized Motorola X, and will launch in November 2014.

The new Nexus mobile unit is lighter and more compact when compared to Samsung Note 4 and iPhone 6 Plus.

Its processor is reported to be quad-core Snapdragon 805, which can clock at 2.7GHz with an Adreno 420 GPU and 3GB of RAM.

The new flagship phone has 3GB of built-in storage and no micro-SD, but there will be a 64GB memory variant available.

It has 13-MP shooter on the rear camera with an f/2.0 aperture that can support 4K video, according to the reports.

The screen of Nexus 6 is an AMOLED display, similar to the screen of the 2014 edition of the Moto X, and its battery can last for up to 10 hours of 4G Web surfing and 330 hours on standby.

Charging it for 15 minutes can bring eight hours of battery life, Tech Times reported. The battery is a 3,220mAh.

While the Nexus 5 went for $350 when it was released, the Nexus 6 would reportedly cost about $650 to $680, according to CP Entertainment.

The Nexus 6, which is running on Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system, will be up for pre-order from the end of October,

Motorola said the mobile device will be water resistant, but it did not state what level of water resistance the handset specifically has.
