Newworldson, JUNO Award Nomination for “CC Album of the Year”
Newworldson just received a 2013 JUNO Award nomination in the category of Contemporary Christian/Gospel Album of the Year for their 2012 release, Rebel Transmission in April. The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) announced the nomination in Toronto on Tuesday during a media conference.
Newworldson is no stranger to JUNO nominations. This marks the band's fourth nomination in this category alone.
"We are honored and thrilled to once again be nominated in the Contemporary Christian/Gospel Album of the Year category," says Newworldson's Mark Rogers. "Congratulations to all the 2013 nominees!"
Their previous releases Roots Revolution (2008), Salvation Station (2009), and Newworldson (2011) were all nominees in the same category.
Playfully referred to as the Canadian Grammys, the JUNO Awards is one of the biggest nights in the Canadian entertainment industry. It's basically a celebration of Canadian music that lasts all week, concluding with the JUNO Awards Broadcast that recognizes Canadian artists who excelled in recorded music that year.
This year the winners will be announced during the 2013 JUNO Awards Broadcast, which airs Sunday, April 21st on CTV, one of Canada's top TV networks. The show will broadcast from Regina's Brandt Centre. This year is bound to be an exciting night packed with Canadian stars such as Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepson, Drake, Nickelback, Michael Bublé, and Nickelback.
