Mission Pictures International Takes MIPCOM by Storm

Mission Pictures International (MPI), foreign sales, finance, and distribution company specializing in high quality family entertainment, announces the international distribution of ten new titles at MIPCOM. Highlights from the slate include the family dramas Last Ounce of Courage and Heart of a Hero as well as gmc TV's premiere film, The Angel Next Door.

Other titles MPI will present at MIPCOM include Meant to Be (Dean Cain and Erika Eleniak), The Genesis Code (Logan Bartholomew, Kelsey Sanders, and Lance Henriksen), gmc TV's Emmy Nominated film The Heart of Christmas (Eric Jay Beck, Jeanne Neilson, and Candace Cameron Bure), This Is Our Time (Erik Estrada, Bruce Marchiano, Erik Roberts, Riff Hutton, and Gary Daniels), Encounter...Paradise Lost (Bruce Marchiano, David A.R. White, Robert Miano, and Riff Hutton), as well as action series The Mark and The Mark Redemption (Craig Sheffer, Eric Roberts, Gary Daniels, and Ivan Kamaras).

"We are so excited to bring such a diverse and exciting lineup to this year's MIPCOM," says MPI President Chevonne O'Shaughnessy. "These titles are all about life, love, and learning and we look forward to expanding their outreach to international audiences."

To coincide with the September 11th theatrical release of the Last Ounce of Courage, which debuted opening weekend on 1,400+ screens across the country, MPI will be sharing the film with the international market. Last Ounce of Courage tells the story of Bob Revere (Marshall Teague), a small-town Mayor and decorated veteran, who faces a root of bitterness from the heartbreaking losses filling his past. He had grown apathetic, along with an entire town. But when his grandson comes back into his life after many years, and asks the most important question - "What are we doing with our lives to make a difference?" - Bob leads a group of people to band together in an effort to take back freedoms being lost, take a stand for the truth, and inspire hope in others.

Another addition to the lineup is The Angel Next Door, set to premiere on gmc TV this December. Starring Kevin Sorbo and Teri Polo, this drama is the story of how a young girl's dream to have a complete family, comes true. After Olivia Mead receives a class assignment to write a paper on her impossible wish, she quickly takes note of unusual happenings. As her wishes come true, she is convinced the miracles are linked to a mysterious woman she believes is an angel.

International audiences will also be introduced to Heart of a Hero, where writer/director Corbin Bernsen (Psych, Major League) leads an all-star cast including Ralph Waite (The Waltons) and Maureen Flannigan (7th Heaven). The film is a testament to those who find the courage to confront their pain and the faith to stay committed to values they hold dear. 12 year-old Trey Caldwell's life is shattered when his soldier father is killed in Afghanistan, leaving a hole in the boy's life - and an unfinished Soap Box Derby car in the garage. A final gift from his dad, the car is a constant reminder of all that could have been. When Trey meets Roy Gibbs, a grizzled Fire Chief devastated by the loss of his firefighter son on 9/11, a new relationship forms and old wounds finally begin to heal. As the unlikely team works to complete the Soap Box car and train for the upcoming derby, they will learn that life is not about the starting line or checkered flag- it is about having the courage to make the incredible journey of faith in between.

MIPCOM, taking place in Cannes, France on October 8-11, is the most anticipated global market for entertainment content across all platforms. Each autumn, the industry's international heavy hitters from film and TV travel to this one-stop marketplace to screen, source, and acquire the freshest new shows, formats and trans media productions.
