Newcastle Transfer Rumors 2015: Mousa Sissoko Wants Transfer to Arsenal
Newcastle midfielder Mousa Sissoko expressed that he wants to leave the team and transfer to the "bigger club" Arsenal.
In an interview with Téléfoot, Sissoko revealed that Arsenal is his dream club. The midfielder added that he would like to succeed at the Champions League in the future and his ultimate goal is to "go higher."
"The transfer market is open, so things can happen any day, but I am focused on Newcastle. If anything should happen, it will. I hope I'll leave for a bigger club one day, but I don't know when. England is my priority. If [Arsène] Wenger calls, I'll have a man-to-man discussion with him and then we'll see. Arsenal has always been the club of my heart," Sissoko said
Speculations rose that Arsenal is planning to acquire Sissoko for £16m but NewCastle is reportedly asking for £25m. Newcastle transfer policy is reportedly governed with a "desire to buy players cheaply." The team reportedly trains players for football and sell them for a bigger profit.
Given the history of Newcastle, the team will reportedly sell players if the offer is not less than £20?million. Former Newcastle player Yohan Cabaye was offered $10 million by Manchester City but the team rejected it. Cabaye went on strike to initiate a transfer and a bid from Paris Saint German around $19 million was accepted by Newcastle.
Cabaye and Sissoko are both hailed as Newcastle's best players in their respective seasons. Former Newcastle manager Allan Pardew reportedly resigned since he knew that Sissoko will be sold and he will have to take the criticism in the board room.
Meanwhile, to clarify the rumors that hounded the midfielder's recent statement about Arsenal, Sissoko tweeted: "I'm a professional player and I stay focused on my team NUFC #DontListenToRumours."
Sissoko is scheduled to play in his current club Newcastle against Southampton on January 18.
