The New York Rangers (3-2) will battle the Montreal Canadiens (2-3) at Madison Square Garden tonight in New York.

The Rangers will look to wrap up their series versus the Montreal Canadiens at MSG, after falling to the Canadiens by 7-4 on May 27. In Game 5, Rangers All-Star goalie Henrik Lundqvist was taken out of the game during the second period after allowing four goals. Chris Kreider had a goal and three assists in a losing effort for New York.

The Rangers are attempting to win their fifth Stanley Cup title in team history but they must to defeat the Canadiens one more time in order to clinch the Eastern Conference title and advance to the 2014 Stanley Cup Finals.

"It's an opportunity to win the game to go to the Stanley Cup final," said Rangers player Brad Richards to reporters. "I think everybody is alert and ready that way. We were talking about it all [Tuesday] how excited we were to get on the ice and start playing.

Meanwhile, Montreal is looking to avoid being eliminated from the postseason when the two squads clash again in the third round of the playoffs.

In Game 5, Rene Bourque had a terrific performance scoring a hat trick (three goals) which ignited the Montreal team to the win.

The Canadiens must win two straight games in order to keep their championship ambitions alive this postseason.

"(Tuesday) night was probably the best game we've played in this series," said Canadiens athlete Lars Eller to reporters. "If we keep doing a lot of those things, I think the end result will be good."
