The New York Knicks (27-40) will face off against the Indiana Pacers (50-17) at Madison Square Garden tonight in New York. 

The Pacers will be the big favorites for tonight's game, having one of the most impressive records in the NBA so far this season.

The New York Knicks' future now rests on the shoulders of Phil Jackson, who won two NBA titles as a player with the franchise prior to winning 11 more championships titles as a coach.

Despite the fact Jackson might not be inheriting a championship caliber team, the Knicks are definitely making a good first impression lately.

New York looks to their seventh consecutive victory tonight when it hosts the Indiana Pacers, who have not been as dominant as they were earlier this season despite having a four-game winning streak.

Jackson was introduced yesterday as team president, and he was hired to aid the Knicks to their first NBA championship since the Hall of Fame Head Coach was a bench player on their last championship team in 1973.

New York currently trails Atlanta for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference after it won 54 games last season.

Despite reports surrounding the future of coach Mike Woodson and the possible free agency of Carmelo Anthony, the Knicks have looked focused on the court lately. They have won six straight games by double digits for the first time since November 1969 after defeating the Milwaukee Bucks by the final score of 115-94 on Saturday afternoon.

Pacers' Lance Stephenson scored 25 points Monday night as Indiana appeared a little fatigue in the 99-90 victory versus the lowly Philadelphia 76ers.
