Tony Hawk New Video Game Release Date Will Arrive Later in 2014

Tony Hawk has a new video game coming out later this year, according to an announcement by publisher Activision.

"Activision can confirm that they have something in the works with Tony Hawk, more info is coming soon," said Activision to Polygon.

This goes along with statements made by Tony Hawk himself on his Demolition Radio Show. "We're working on a game ... it's pretty cool."

The first Tony Hawk game came out in 1999, and was groundbreaking in so many ways. The game featured an amazing video game soundtrack, highly involved missions and goals, plus an arsenal of professional complete with all of their real life tricks.

The last game in the series to be released was an HD remake of the original in 2012.

Tony Hawk's video games have seen many incarnations. The first wave of games were called, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, and featured parts 1 through 4 from 1999 to 2002.

The next step in the franchise was Tony Hawk's Underground from 2003 to 2005. These games had more of an open world feel to them that featured a local person becoming a pro, instead of starting as one.

From 2006 on, the game's have changed mechanics and gameplay with almost every release. The titles are called: Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam, Tony Hawk's Project 8, Tony Hawk's, Tony Hawk's Motion, Tony Hawk: Ride, Tony Hawk: Shred, and the last installment - Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD.
