New PS4, Xbox One Games, Release Date: 'Minecraft' Updates, 'Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition' Blizzard Announcement

A host of game developers have recently announced the release of new games as well as updates to existing games for the PS4 and Xbox One.

American game developer and publisher Blizzard has just announced the release of the "Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Ultimate Evil Edition" on various gaming platforms, including PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, on Aug. 19.

The new version of the game will incorporate the original Diablo III as well as its latest expansion "Reaper of Souls," which was only scheduled for release on PS4. It is expected that the retail price for Xbox One and PS4 versions will be $59.99, while the price tag for Xbox 360 and PS3 will be quite reasonable - $39.99.

The latest version of the Ultimate Evil Edition will include an "apprentice" mode that enhances the power of novice players to enable them to play co-op together with their more skilled playmates, as well as a latest in-game mail system that permits a player to share loot with people on their friends list.

It will be possible for gamers sporting an earlier console edition of Diablo III, either for PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, to retain their characters in this new edition. In addition, it is also possible to transfer PS3 characters to PS4, while Xbox 360 characters can jump to Xbox One.

Meanwhile, Scotland-based game developer 4J Studios will be releasing new updates for "Minecraft" PS4 and Xbox One, the two most awaited building games.

According to a report in VG 24/7, the next-generation adaptations of the video game will be much bigger than the existing ones on PS3 and Xbox 360.

Meanwhile, 4J Studios has tweeted, "Working with Sony/Microsoft on world size--not 'infinite' due to save size limits, but a lot bigger than PS3/Xbox 360."

This is an interesting update, keeping in view that earlier reports have corroborated that save transfers from the Xbox 360 to the Xbox One version have been confirmed only in late April.
