The Saints (2-3) are trying to step up their game in the upcoming matchup when they face-off against the Lions this Sunday.
New Orleans took out the Buccaneers by a score of 37-31 in their last match on October 5.
Running back Pierre Thomas had 112 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns, which helped the Saints overcome an 11-point fourth-quarter deficit to force overtime. Also, Thomas' runner-up RB Khiry Robinson capped the 37-31 victory with a tackle-breaking 18-yard touchdown run.
Saints' quarterback Drew Brees had this to say about his teammate after the game, "[Thomas is] everything you'd want in a teammate in regards to not only his production on game day but throughout the week."
"He can do it all," Brees added, "He's one of the best all-purpose backs in the league, no question, and he's been that for a long time."
However, the Detroit Lions (4-2) are looking to maintain their win streak when they face-off against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.
The Lions took home their last game versus the Minnesota Vikings on October 12 by a score of 17-3.
Running back Joique Bell put the game away with a fourth-quarter touchdown run to finish with 74 yards on 18 carries. Lions DT Ndamukong Suh had some choice words about to game for the reporters.
"It's definitely something to be proud of, but at the end of the day it's very early in the season," said Suh, who had two sacks and a major role in holding the Vikings to 69 yards on 18 rushes.
"If we're talking Week 17 or Week 16 and we're still at this pace, which I expect this defense to do, then we can start to be really excited about it because it's translating to wins," he added.
