New Hulk Movie Release Date News: Incredible Hulk Film Will Come After Avengers 2: Lou Ferrigno Interview
Former 'Hulk' actor Lou Ferrigno has fueled the rumors about a spin-off film featuring Marvel's Incredible Hulk.
Lou Ferrigno said in a December interview that Disney is making a "Hulk" movie with Mark Ruffalo as its star.
'Iron Man 3', 'Thor: The Dark World', and 'Avengers' grossed an incredible amount of money as all of the films were a box office success. This led Marvel to book five new dates for upcoming superhero films.
Currently, fans are hoping that news about the upcoming Marvel feature films and additional plans will be announced during the San Diego Comic-Con 2014.
Some fans wonder whether Marvel will actually give Ruffalo the leading role in a spin-off film tied to The Incredible Hunk. Answers to this question can be drawn from interview responses by Ferrigno, who played Hulk in the 1978 television series.
Right after the second 'Avengers' movie, Ferrigno said in an interview that another 'Hulk' film will be confirmed. He also expressed that he'd like to play a small role in the film, like a general or commander in the army. However, he did not fully answer whether Ruffalo will continue to feature as The Incredible Hulk.
Speculation about 'World War Hulk' and 'Planet Hulk' have sprung up even before the premeire of 'The Avengers', but critics have shut down the ideas. Comic book author Joss Whedon dismissed the rumors about the aforementioned spin-offs because he felt that the CGI would mirror Disney's flop film, 'John Carter'.
On a positive note, Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios' President of Production, was more optimistic about Ruffalo starring in a solo 'Hulk' film.
Ruffalo made mention that he would not mind starring as Bruce Banner in an independant 'Hulk' film, but there are no plans for such a project as of yet.
Along with Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr., Ruffalo will star in the upcoming superhero sequel, 'The Avengers: Age of Ultron', which is set to hit theaters on May 1, 2015.
