New Harry Potter Story: JK Rowling Updates on Harry, Ron, and Hermione

Author of the massively popular Harry Potter book series, J.K. Rowling surprised fans with a new short story on her Pottermore website days ago. The story, titled "Dumbledore's Army Reunites", is told from the perspective of The Daily Prophet's infamous gossip columnist, Rita Skeeter.

The story is set at this year's Quidditch World Cup in the Patagonian Desert. Skeeter's many vicious observations are peppered throughout the 1,500 word story, and among the biggest news are about Harry, The Boy Who Lived, now 34 years old. Harry is apparently still wearing his signature round-shaped spectacles, and is as famous as ever, also, he has a brand new scar on his face from his duties as an Auror. He is also rumored to be having marital problems. Skeeter hints that Harry's wife, Ginny, who is now a reporter assigned to the Quidditch World Cup, is covering it up by acting like they are really happy.

Hermione is still, according to Skeeter, "the femme fatale of the group'. She is reportedly enjoying a "meteoric rise in her career' and managed to become the Deputy Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement.

Ron, who is married to Hermione, is now running "his highly successful wizarding joke emporium Weasley's Wizard Wheezes' with his brother George, after working for the Ministry of Magic for only two years. Skeeter is speculating whether Ron's resignation was really his own choice or if it had to do with the toll destroying Voldemort's horcruxes took on him.

Fans are now speculating whether the short story is a hint of more 'Harry Potter' books to come, although Rowling has time and time again stated that Deathly Hallows is the last in the series.

Rowling lives in Edinburgh and has just published her second crime thriller under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith.
