The fourth season of 'New Girl' officially began on September 16, as the premiere episode, entitled "The Last Wedding," aired on Fox.

The premiere episode of Season 4 picked up from where the characters were left off in Season 3. With Jess and Nick breaking up in the third season of the show, the roommates, now ex-lovers, are in for a platonic relationship with each other.

The first episode of the season featured the 'New Girl' gang at a wedding, where each member made a pact to "get lucky" by the end of the night. The lead girl, Jess, tried to win the affection of the wedding's best man, played by 'Veep' actor Reid Scott, but in the process ended up in a face-off with Kat, played by '7th Heaven' actress Jessica Biel.

Even though their characters go against each other to get the attention of one man, the show's lead star Zooey Deschanel was all praises for guest star Biel.

"She's like one of those people that you try to find something wrong with her because she's so pretty, smart, talented, funny," Deschanel told Ellen Degeneres in an interview.

The '500 Days of Summer' actress continued showing her love for Biel by saying "She's so nice and amazing. I don't have anything against her."

With the season premiere episode airing, reports say that the fourth season of 'New Girl' is promising to be more impressive than the show's rather disappointing third season.

Although the third season of the show focused more on the characters' relationships, the show's executive producers Liz Meriwether, Brett Baer and David Finkel said that they want the show to have a different focus for its fourth season.
