New Bourne Movie Release Date 2015, Cast News: Matt Damon Confirmed to Play Jason Bourne Again
Fans know that Hollywood actors Matt Damon and Ben Affleck have a very close friendship, one that has lasted throughout the years, and recently, Affleck broke the news about his best friend and his reprisal of Jason Bourne in the upcoming 'Bourne' installment.
"Well, [Damon's] going to be doing a 'Bourne' movie next Fall when I've just lost any semblance of physical fitness," Affleck told E! News. Before Affleck's comment, Damon's reprisal of the character was only rumored.
After his best friend revealed the news, Damon on the other hand finally confirmed it. "Yes, next year. It'll be in 2016 when the movie will actually come out. [Director] Paul Greengrass is going to do another one and that's all I ever said. I just needed him to say yes," he reportedly said.
Previously, Damon mentioned according to reports that he will not reprise Bourne's role if Greengrass was not involved, and apparently, Paul Greengrass is the Director of the upcoming film in 2016. It was good news for the fans since he turned out to be the key for Damon to reprise the role.
Right now, the film is moving forward even though Greengrass previously closed the possibility of him doing another 'Bourne' film. "In the end I felt I had given it my all in two films I'm very proud of and didn't want to make another if I didn't believe it could be as good if not better," Greengrass told Deadline.
"I couldn't come up with an idea, and the business reality of franchises is that when a studio has a 'Bourne', they're obliged to make one every couple of years. I discovered in my heart I didn't have another one in me," he added.
According to 'Bourne' producer Frank Marshall, the film is moving forward, "That movie is moving forward. It's still in development. We're working to get a script as soon as possible," Marshall told the Hollywood Reporter.
