Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos gave the keynote address at the 2013 Film Independent Forum (watch full video below).

The streaming internet company has had huge success lately with their two original series "House of Cards" and "Orange is the New Black". "Orange is the New Black" Season 1 hit record viewership for Netflix and Season 2 is in production now for both series and will release sometime in 2014.

Sarandos also spoke about their vision of one day releasing the big blockbuster movies on Netflix the same day they release in theaters.

With the current system, Netflix subscribers wait over a year for the big movie releases to be available, with some never showing.

Sarandos shared this at a forum for independent film this weekend, "What we're trying to do for TV, the model should extend pretty nicely to movies. Meaning, why not premiere movies on Netflix, the same day they're opening in theatres?

"And not little movies - there's a lot of ways, and lot of people to do that [already]. Why not big movies? Why not follow the consumers' desire to watch things when they want?"

What do you think the chances are of Netflix ever releasing big movies on the same day they release to theaters?
