Netflix July 2016 Releases Include ‘Stranger Things,’ ‘The Big Short,’ ‘Mean Girls,’ And More Series
The third quarter of 2016 has started and in line with the start of July, Netflix has unveiled its new releases.
Netflix is set to cover several new television shows and films, as well as new seasons of original shows this July, N4BB has learned. As per the publication, one of the notable titles for this month is "Stranger Things."
Directed by Matt Dufler and Ross Dufler, "Stranger Things" is a 1980 horror drama series. Set in Indiana, instead of Montauk, New York, the upcoming show revolves on a young boy who disappears into thin air. The show is set to have eight episodes, each running for an hour. Written by the Duflers and produced by Shawn Levy, "Stranger Things" is slated to air on July 15.
In the week of July 4, Netflix is set to air 2015's "The Big Short." directed by "Step Brothers" producer Adam McKay, the film is about four denizens in the high-finance credit realm predicting the credit and housing bubble collapse of the mid-2000. To feed their greed and absence of foresight, they decide to take on the big banks.
As per Vulture, Mark Waters' 2004 comedy film "Mean Girls" is also part of Netflix's line-up this July. As per the publication, the film managed to stick on to its "vicelike" grip on the American culture. The film is believed to have several memorable scenes like "oft-quoted" classics, which includes the cafeteria description and the phone call. "Mean Girls" became available on July 1.
Along with the aforementioned, other Netflix shows and movies to be aired this month include 2009's "Fighting," 2015's "Mustang," and this year's "Ghostheads," among others.
