Neriza Fojas was supposed to get married in June. Unfortunately her and four other women in her wedding were killed in a limo fire during Fojas's bachelorette party in San Francisco Saturday night. Fojas, 31, and the rest of her friends were partying in the limo as it went over the San Mateo-Hayward bridge until the limo suddenly exploded into flames.
The driver of the limo was able to stop when he noticed the flames and rescue four of the women. Unfortunately Fojas and four of the other women were not so lucky and died. The fire is believed to have started in the trunk. The five that died were burned so bad they had to be identified by dental record, according to police.
The four injured women: Mary G. Guardiano, 42, of Alameda, Nelia Arrellano, 36, of Oakland, Amalia Loyola, 48, of San Leandro, and Jasmine Desguia, 34, of San Jose.
The women killed in the limo fire, all in their 30s, would be released after notifying the families.
The driver, Orville Brown, was believed to have stopped the limo immediately after noticing the flames, and rescued four of the bachelorette party attendees.
The fire engulfed the limo close to 10 pm, according to police, about 20 miles southeast of San Francisco.
As for the cause of the fire: 'We have no idea right now where they were going or where they were coming from,' CHP officer Amelia Jack told KGO-TV."
The four women who were rescued are still in the hospital being treated for smoke inhalation and burns.
