Fans of the CBS police procedural drama "NCIS' will be happy to know that the network is renewing the show for two more years, ensuring that viewers will get to see more of Agent Gibbs, Tony DiNozzo, and other characters on the show. It has been confirmed that contracts have been renewed for regulars David McCallum, Michael Weatherly, Pauley Perrette, Brian Dietzen, Rocky Carroll, and Sean Murray.

But what of Agent Ziva? Will Season 12 bring about her much-awaited return to the show? Since Cote de Pablo left NCIS back in October last year, many fans expressed their desire to bring her back. During the last few episodes with Ziva, viewers were witness to her budding romance with Agent DiNozzo. However, the show's executive producer, Gary Glasberg, hinted that Tony may find a new love interest in the future.

"I don't think his next relationship is going to happen anytime soon. Part of letting Tony be Tony and letting him be flirtatious and talk to women is that these women don't really matter," said Glasberg in an interview with TVLine.

Apart from DiNozzo's romantic interests, Season 12 of "NCIS' is rumored to begin with something new. Fan forums are rife with speculations whether Gibbs will finally be able to meet his mother as he goes back to his hometown. There are also predictions that viewers will be meeting one of Gibbs' ex-wives. Though it has not yet been confirmed, Glasberg did hint on the matter by saying this to TV Line, "I can promise you that [mystery wife] is probably going to get touched on in Season 12."
