NCIS Season 12 Spoilers, Plot Rumors: Ziva and DiNozzo Will Stay in Touch With One Another?

A glimmer of hope has emerged for fans of 'NCIS' agents Tony DiNozzo and Ziva; there is a possibility that the two could be keeping in touch and working on their relationship.

This has been suggested by TVLine in a report that says that the couple can still stay in touch with each other through Skype and online chatting.

In an interview with the website, Executive Producer Gary Glasberg said, "A lot of people have approached me about the idea of not shutting the door entirely on [their staying in touch], and I'm not opposed to it. But it has to be done in such a way where it feels organic to the storytelling and we're not just throwing in lines about Ziva here and there."

Ziva, played by Cote de Pablo, appeared in Season 4 of "NCIS' and was a regular on the series, until she decided not to sign on for Season 11 of the show.

CBS Corp. president and CEO Les Mooves stated that de Pablo was not dropped from the show.

"I really want to clarify: We offered Cote de Pablo a lot of money- and then we offered her even more money. Ultimately, [Cote de Pablo] decided she didn't want to do the show. It was her decision," said Mooves.

In TV Guide's previous interviews with de Pablo, she did not cite her reasons for leaving the show, claiming that it was "a personal thing." Grief-stricken fans sent paperclips to CBS in protest to her leaving the show, as a reference to her character Ziva's first appearance on the show wherein she said to DiNozzo, "I will kill you 18 different ways with this paper clip."

De Pablo said that she was grateful for the fan outpouring, "I was incredibly moved by the blind support people had without ever getting reasons as to why I left. People trusted that what I was doing was what I needed to do."
