The long-running American police procedural drama series, 'NCIS', will return for Season 12 via CBS Network on Tuesday, Sept. 23. Renewed for the 12th season in March 2014, the show revolves around a fictional team of special agents from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service.

Season 12 kicks off from the finale of the previous season of 'NCIS'. Viewers will see Gibbs inviting Bishop for a discussion. Although the two do not see eye-to-eye and Gibbs decision may not be right, the event is definitely significant. In fact, this tension was also evident when the 'NCIS' team was hunting for the terrorist Benham Parsa.

Recently, Emily Wickerham, who portrays the character of Bishop, shared some select spoilers of the new series. She revealed that the background of her character would have to be given away at some point in the season. However, Wickerham said she knows little about the direction her character is headed, as "it is up to the writers to lead the way."

Wickerham said, "You know, I know a little bit, there's a big collaboration over there and I'm excited to see where she goes, where they take her character," adding, "I hope she will meet her husband, know a little bit about her background."

As far as the romantic relation of DiNozzo and Pendergrast is concerned, showrunner Gary Glasberg has already said that there is a possibility of the two igniting a romantic interest with each other.

Glasberg said, "Yeah, she is one of several. So it's us having fun with the idea that we're going to see a little bit of the old Tony DiNozzo again and hopefully everybody will have a good time with that. I think they will, and we're having fun with it from a casting standpoint, and Michael is too."
