'NCIS' Season 11 Ziva David Farewell Premiere Sept. 2013 CBS, Watch Cast Interview Tease New Episodes (VIDEO)
"NCIS" Season 11 is almost back on CBS and the big news is that Ziva David, played by Cote de Pablo, is leaving the show.
The new trailers are teasing how Ziva will meet her end and exit the how. In different extended versions of Season 11, Episode 1 "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot" there is shown an explosion at a D.C. event that results in one or more deaths.
With Ziva leaving the show, it leaves a big gap that will need to be replaced. This is not an easy thing to do with any show successfully and Pablo has been on the cast since 2005.
The reports are out now though that a new female replacement for Ziva David is in the works, Emily Wickersham.
Emily Wickersham is well known for her mob ties on the hit HBO show "The Sopranos" and will now be joining the cast of "NCIS" and CBS family. She also currently has a recurring role on "The Bridge" on FX.
Wickersham will be on a three-episode deal with the show, this is normal to see how it fits on both sides before making a long-term commitment.
TV Line says Wickersham will play "Bishop, a bright, educated, athletic, attractive, fresh-faced, focused and somewhat socially awkward new agent. She has a mysterious mixture of analytic brilliance, fierce determination and idealism. She's traveled extensively, but only feels comfortable at home."
The video above shows "NCIS" cast members Michael Weatherly, Pauley Perrette and Rocky Carroll discussing the upcoming Season 11 and the surprising news of Ziva's departure of the show.
Guest stars include Colin Hanks as Department of Defense IG Investigator Richard Parsons and Joe Spano as Senior FBI Agent T.C. Fornell.
Watch the 11th season premiere of "NCIS" to see how Ziva's farewell plays out on Tuesday, Sept. 24 (8:00 PM, ET/PT) on CBS.
