NCIS New Orleans Release Date, Spoilers: Spin-off Series Set for Sept. 23 Premiere on CBS
'NCIS: New Orleans', a military drama spin-off television series, is slated for Sept. 23 premiere on CBS. The show is actually a spin-off of the original television series 'NCIS', something akin to the 'CSI' series spin-off 'CSI: Miami'.
'NCIS: New Orleans' will not only introduce new characters, but also have new cases different from the NCIS'. In fact, 'NCIS: New Orleans' will be the second spin-off, the first being 'NCIS: Los Angeles'.
While the show creators have yet to reveal many details about the series, they have assured fans that they will see many familiar faces visiting New Orleans during the first season of the spin-off series.
Not too long ago, Gary Glasber, Mark Harmon, and Jeffrey Lieber, the executive producers of 'NCIS: New Orleans', shared a few plot details at the TCA Summer Press Tour. They disclosed that Gibbs will be appearing in one episode of the show, resulting in a crossover between the two series.
The show creators have also planned episodes involving Michael Weatherley and Pauley Perrette. David McCalum will also be making an appearance in one episode. Rumors say that FBI Agent Fornell, portrayed by Joe Spano, will also make an appearance in New Orleans.
Apart from these crossovers, the new show will also have several new actors playing new characters. For instance, Scott Bakula will be portraying the character of Dwayne Cassius Pride, the NCIS Agent who is in charge of the entire New Orleans crew.
In addition, Lucas Black playing the role of a NCIS Senior Special Agent Christopher LaSalle, Zoe McLellan will appear as Great Lakes office transferee NCIS Special Agent Meredith "Merri" Brody, C.C.H. Pounder will be seen as medical examiner Dr. Loretta Wade, and Rob Kerkovich will play the role of a lab assistant named Sebastian Voll.
