CBS issued the following outline to tonight's episode:

"When the NCIS: LA team and the DEA uncover the cartel's plans to slyly transport billions of dollars' worth of cocaine from Colombia to the United States using a submarine, Callen and Sam must quickly locate the missing vessel. Meanwhile, Hetty is called to Washington in the aftermath of the controversial mission in Afghanistan," according to the official summary.

Showrunner Shane Brennan revealed tonight's episode will present the most difficult circumstances that G. Callen (played by Chris O'Donnell), Sam Hanna (played by rapper and actor LL Cool J) and the rest of NCIS Los Angeles crew has ever faced during the series' five year run.

"The team will be in extreme jeopardy in a place that they've never been, and in a situation that appears almost insurmountable for them," Brennan told TV Guide.

When DEA Agent Talia Del Campo (Mercedes Masohn) returns to help the group stop the Cartel's evil plot, her reemergence causes a wedge in Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) and Kensi Blye's (Daniela Ruah) connection since Talia also had a brief relationship with Deeks.
