Its official, NBC has cancelled TV show The New Normal only after one season. The comedy created by Glee's Ryan Murphy and Ali Adler was part of the networks Tuesday comedy block, but if failed to do numbers.
The show was about a gay couple Bryan (Andrew Rannells) and David (Justin Bartha) who wants to start a family. They decided to have a child, but being that they are a same sex couple they hire a surrogate mother named Goldie Clemmons (Georgia King). They move the surrogate into their Los Angeles home along with her nine-year-old daughter Shania (Bebe Wood).
NeNe Leakes was occasionally a guest star on the show and she sent out the following tweet after hearing the news about the show being dropped from the network, "I love my fairy God Mother @MrRPMurphy & @AliAdler 4 believing n me & givin me an amazing opportunity! No mo New Normal but we r forever."
The show came on Tuesday nights and was nothing more than dead weight on the networks Tuesday comedy block, but singing competition series, The Voice allowed the show to survive for as long as it did.
The second season of The New Normal would have followed Bryan and David as they raised their new-born son, but unfortunately NBC officially cancelled the show on May 11, 2013. It's been said that NBC has cut all of their freshman shows for new show debuts such as Hannibal and Save Me.
