NBA Trade Rumors: Love May Join Cleveland, Philadelphia 76ers Not Interested in Stoudemire
It has been one of the most exhilarating NBA off seasons this year. With LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony, the two biggest free agents, already committing themselves for the next season, the focus of NBA trades has now shifted to other targets like Amar'e Stoudemire and Kevin Love.
Some of the latest rumors related to star free agents on trade are presented below:
Amar'e Stoudemire
Not long back, Amar'e was believed to be the best NBA player, but he has been struggling since the last three years in New York Knicks. As he is scheduled to earn $23,410,988 this season and his impact dwindling in the team, it is likely that the franchise will want to trade him before he becomes a free agent after the 2014-15 season.
Philadelphia 76ers was interested in him until recently when they quickly changed their minds. Even his numbers have dropped significantly since he joined the Knicks. Nevertheless, he would be a good team up for Nerlens Noel and also Joel Embiid and be fruitful for the franchises. Now, it remains to be seen if any of them strikes a deal with Stoudemire.
Kevin Love
Currently, Kevin Love, Minnesota Timberwolves power forward, is among the best players in the NBA. However, as Love has the option to terminate his contract after this season, it may be necessary for the franchise to trade him prior to his becoming a free agent again.
ESPN reports that though there is a possibility of Love signing a deal with Cleveland Cavaliers, the two sides must overcome the existing impasse.
In fact, the balance of power in the NBA has shifted after LeBron entered into a deal with the Cavaliers, who now have enough time to sign Love. However, the franchise's commitment to Andrew Wiggins is reported to be delaying the trade.
A deal between Cavaliers and Love seems to be closer than before, but it cannot be hammered out till the franchise settles the Wiggins issue. Until then, the team's dream of having a trio of Kyrie Irving, James, and Love in the squad will only remain a pipe dream.
