NBA Trade Rumors: Jermy Lin May Move to Philadephia 76ers, Provided LeBron James Quits Miami Heat
Even as hopes of recruiting Carmelo Anthony or LeBron James seem to be a distant dream; the Houston Rockets continue their search for a superstar to finalize its "Big Three." Latest reports say that the team is now aiming to get Chris Bosh.
According to Fansides, this is not the first time that the team is trying to get Bosh. Rockets wooed Bosh in 2010 too, but the star decided to be a part of Miami Heat's "Big Three." However, this time Bosh has indicated that he is prepared to quit Miami provided LeBron James chooses to play elsewhere. Meanwhile, Rockets will require trading out center Omer Asik and point guard Jeremy Lin.
Meanwhile, Asik is reported to be joining the New Orleans Pelicans soon. During the last few months, there have been a lot of rumors regarding Jeremy Lin being traded out. Earlier, Lin made his diappointment known over the fact that the Rockets were desperately trying to trade him out and acquire Carmelo Anthony in his place.
While Sporting News reported that Lin will be bartered with the Philadephia 76ers, CSNPhilly.com says, "The Sixers would essentially pay [Lin's] salary and absorb his cap hit in exchange for taking back assets."
It has been reported that the Rockets have wanted to relax salary cap space for long in order to have enough money for their third star. Previously, Lin's deal with the Rockets was for four years for more than $14 million. In the final year of his contract Lin is expected to earn roughly $8.3 million. Playing 71 games, Lin has an average of 12.5 points, 2.6 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.0 steals per game during the 2013-2014 season.
In fact, the 76ers are also passing though a rebuilding phase and including Lin in the team has been welcomed. However, the trade is subject to change therefore, Philadelphia has adopted a wait-and-watch policy for now.
