NBA Miami Heat Trade News, Rumors: Andray Blatche, Miami Heat in Negotiations?
Still seeking a veteran depth at center, the Miami Heat summoned center Ryan Hollins to Miami to meet with Erik Spoelstra and his staff on Friday. According to an insider, who claims to have been briefed by the team, no offer was made Friday or Saturday, but the franchise is considering Hollins.
Twenty-nine-year-old Hollins played for six teams in eight seasons and averaged 2.3 points, 1.5 rebounds and 7.9 minutes in 61 games for the Clippers last season. Hollins' career averages at 3.8 points, 2.2 rebounds and 0.5 blocks, which is quite impressive.
Meanwhile, rumors are rife that Miami Heat may sign in Andray Blatche. However, the franchise does not appear to be very keen to have him, as they find that it's ultimately up to Blatche's willingness to accept a minimal contract.
According to another report, center Andray Blatche, currently playing for the Philippine national team in the FIBA Basketball World Cup, is reportedly traveling from Spain to Miami to negotiate a contract.
While it is not yet certain whether Blatche is flying to Miami to negotiate with the Heat, there have been several reports that mention Blatche's new contract is "presumably" with Miami. The two have had mutual interest before the FIBA Basketball World Cup even began and Blatche would be an excellent addition to the Miami Heat roster.
Fans hope that the 6' 11" Blatche would certainly fill the void in the team's center position. Currently, the Miami Heat roster includes Chris Bosh, who plays in the center position and Josh McRoberts at the power forward spot. Having Blatche on the team will enable Bosh to slide back to his natural position at the four, while Blatche takes on center duties.
