NBA Free Agency Rumors: Supporting Characters, Josh Smith to Kings as Boozer and Bledsoe to Mavericks

The superstars of the NBA world have finally found their respective homes for the next season. LeBron James has returned to the Cavaliers whereas Carmelo Anthony goes to the Knicks. Pau Gasol has also found a new home with the Chicago Bulls.

This leaves other teams with the remaining free agents that haven't quite found a franchise to sign with for next season.

One of these deals involves Josh Smith's trade to the Sacramento Kings. The talks between the Detroit Pistons and the Sacramento Kings supposedly resulted in a dead deal. Just recently however, the deal was rekindled and talks are resuming between the two teams.

Some avid followers find it strange that the Kings would want to sign a player like Smith to their team, as they feel the chemistry would just not be right.

The Dallas Mavericks have also been active in pursuing talented players during the off season, but two players aren't making their lists. Carlos Boozer and Eric Bledsoe aren't quite in the interest of the Mavericks because of a limited salary cap and a more powerful rival bidder.

Recenty reports claim that the Chicago Bulls and the Mavericks want to bid on Carlos Boozer using an amnesty waiver deal. Although Boozer is a good backup for Dirk Nowitzki, the Mavericks could be outbid by the Atlanta Hawks.

With Bledsoe's case, the Mavericks could use a very talented player like him. Bledsoe's signing with the Mavericks could put the team back to its place in the Western Conference as a force to be reckoned with.

The only problem however is their limited salary cap space. It would be hard to convince Bledsoe to sign for the Mavericks, because the Phoenix Suns would be offering the higher bid.
